Lashkar-e-Taiba in Baghdad

Another revelation - the Lashkar-e-Taiba has been active in Iraq for some time. The United States is keeping this story under wraps lest it embarass Musharraf. But by allowing him to let the jehadis continue to operate within Pakistan, the United States is gambling with the security of its own troops.

Arrests made earlier this month near Baghdad have blown the lid off the links between the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Islamist groups fighting the United States military. Hard evidence has emerged for the first time that terrorist groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir — groups still indulged by the Pakistani military establishment — have spread their theatre of operations to Iraq.
