The obvious, now ratified by Harvard

Ashish and Rajan point to a study by a Harvard professor who concluded that, well, terrorism is not caused by poverty alone, but by a lack of political freedom.

Interestingly, the study suggests that countries that are midway between total and no political freedom tend to suffer the most.

The case for democracy grows even stronger.
