US forces protect an endangered bird in Afghanistan

Collateral benefits
This is an archived blog post from The Acorn.

The houbara bustard has found an unlikely protector — American troops in Afghanistan prevented a party of Arab and Pakistani hunters from indulging in their annual recreational activity. The Khan of Kalat, a Balochi feudal, and his Arab guests were subjected to some routine checks’ by American forces before being released.

Thanks to American troops, for some bustards at least, freedom will endure another year.
