Hey Auto!

First they claimed the Chicken Tikka Masala. Now they’re taking our autorickshaws!

This is an archived blog post from The Acorn.

What is common between high-tech road pricing and the humble Indian autorickshaw? Well, they are both answers to Britain’s traffic problems.

The Times reports (via The Adam Smith Institute Blog) that twelve autorickshaws have been imported from Pune (the centre of the autorickshaw universe) and will first run in Brighton. There are plans to deploy autorickshaws in Central London next year. All the best Dominic!
